Walking along in Birmingham i was amazed to see this at the carpark of the S C C Technology Campus Global Delivery centre .

An ex-RAF Hunter donated to the fish heads Royal Navy and converted to photo reconnaisance. Note the camera flats in the nose. Must have been bought by a private owner at the end of its service life and avoided the scrap yard. British design at its best.I suspect thhat it had external fuel tanks installed when first displayed but since removed.

During my kit building era in the late sixties I often liked the simplicity of a two colour scheme but the blue grey colour was difficult to get hold of in Humbrol matt so I used Airfix gloss. For some reason it never dried, despite being well mixed. Every time I see that colour scheme I see a ruined Bucanneer model and can recall the smell of that paint!

I believe it was the RN Hunters that displayed at Biggin Hill in the late sixties making mock attacks (with tannoy cannons). Can anyone confirm?
