A recent visit to the UAS exhibits at Long kesh gave me the opportunity to take a few photos of the hangars. There are two surviving hangars, now used by the Ulster Aviation Society for the museum were formerly used by Short's during WW2 for Stirling construction and are unusual in that the T2 hangars are raised on concrete plinths (as show in the internal photo) to allow for the height of the Stirling. I am not aware of this having been done elsewhere for Stirlings in operational service.

Apologies for the orientation of the images. No matter what I tried the website is rotating them through 90 degrees!

A further complication seems to be that even if you rotate the image on your device photo editor and then re-upload it without changing the filename i, the forum software ignores that change and uses the original file. To get round this you have to change the filename and upload the new filename

I am not completely clear as to all the circumstances that cause this, but it is clear that the photos retain some orientation data in the data that is contained in the files internal description. A lot of apps ignore this and intelligently rotate the image so it is correct without affecting that internal data so that it is viewed correctly. However when you upload here it presents as described by the internal data. The thumbnails show how it will look.Apologies for the orientation of the images. I regularly have the same problem on the WMR. As above I found that rotating by 90° did not correct it. What I do is put the image into an editing program and adjust the tilt slightly just a degree or so then save.
It seems to be something to do with refreshing the JPG settings.
