Post war 1946 to early 50s the Royal Signals operated from Bure Homage(a "stately home" just off Christchurch Airfield). Presumably in support of activities at SRDE.
Does anyone know what unit(s) and CO(s) names?

During the war it was occupied as an Officers' Mess of the American Air force, associated with the war time airfield which was extended with a grass runway. In 1945, Bure Homage was used as a barracks for members of the Royal Corps of Signals attached to S.R.D.E. but suffered considerable deterioration. The house was demolished in February 1957 by MOD and replaced by housing.

Thanks Mbriscoe - that statement from BAE Systems it isn't strictly accurate. BH was used by the USAAF 405FG from around March 44 till end of June 44. The airfield had been extended in 43 and in march/April a BRC(British Reinforced Concrete mesh) runway was laid by 833 Engineers Aviation Battalion / Company A USAAF .By 1946 the runway had fallen into disuse and was eventually lifted.
Ok about RS accomodation at Bure ...but were the RS members part of any particular sub- unit?
The " new R.E. depot at Somerford." presumably refers to the Air Defence Experimental Establishment/ADRDE (later the Signal
Research and Development Establishment)...this opened in Sept 39.
