Slingsby type 30 Prefect TX Mk 1 was created by TerryClark
A single seat glider produced in 1948 and a development of the pre-war German built Grunau Baby.
About 15 were produced for Air Cadet use intended to provide experience in soaring and advanced flying for cadets who had already soloed in the Sedbergh and Mk 3 gliders, it's main difference being a semi enclosed cockpit and the use of airbrakes instead of spoilers, the Sedbergh had spoilers from day 1 but the Mk 3 was only retrofitted with spoilers in the mid to late '60s.

Your photos appear to be of a Sedbergh; there's already a thread in 'aircraft' about those.
Did many flights in Sedberghs flying air experience cadets from Halton and Bovingdon.
