From dad's photographs: Open Day Stoneycross September 15, 1945, flying ceased there in 1946. This Bird's eye view from a helicopter shows two Stirling Mk5s, B24 Liberator and the Halifax from AFEE RAF Beaulieu

I think the helicopter had more attraction to the visitors than the fixed wing static aircraft. Probably a Sikorsky R4 or R6 (named Hoverfly in RAF service)

I had a Christmas card that was sent to my mum from RAF Stoney Cross in 1946. Probably still got it but no idea where!
