Macclesfield War memorials and a reminder of the past

The pictures are of Macclesfield War memorial and its War memorial Hall .I suspect the " Glorious Dead" would find the hall more fitting as a memorial than an angel -presenting a victory wreath to a corpse. The last Photo is from St Mary' s church Macclesfield where the Grave yard is paved with millstone grit memorials and the pathos of the one I photographed reminds me of the scourge of infant mortality amongst Mill workers.
