A ww2 veteran once said to me that they regarded Anne Shelton as their favourite singer,She was only 14 and could not go to foreign parts,?

Dads family lived on Lambeth Walk until they were bombed out, I think my Aunt was evacuated, but came back
to London and remembers the V1s

The Guardian had to show their usual bad taste and hatred of anything British in their report on her death.
Let's hope the tabloid get hits hard with costs of reparations for the slavery links of their founder.
The White Cliffs of Dover, in which Lynn hymns the British coastline as she hopes for peace, is another of her enduring patriotic songs – written by Walter Kent and Nat Burton, it was originally released in 1942. The far right British National Party (BNP) featured it and used its title for a compilation album of British songs in 2009 – Lynn objected, and took legal action over the release.

Dad was 14th Army and thought the world of Vera.
