Airshow Food..?

You should have had the bacon butties we used to have in the tower at Leuchars during the airshow! And the RAF supplied butty boxes werent bad either, oh and the 8 year old Scotch whisky that BAE donated.

Hell fire what happened to our share of the 8 year old Whisky ??? Yep the buttie boxes were pretty good- had it been up to certain airshow manager it would have been a bag of chips from the village to be shared by 6 persons !!!!!

I used that chippy once, never ever ever again. As for the Scotch, well if GEF had done anything to help BAE then theyd have got a share, but you didnt so there!! And I recall on my first tour Distillers aircraft diverted in with an engine on fire and the firemen, VAS and the SAR flight all got a case of Grouse.

Anyway, back to the thread title Stevie told me that the burgers at Little Gransden were really good,half way through the show one of our group decided to go and buy one. Came back a little later with his burger, sat down and enjoyed it. ''That was great'' he said Towards the end of the display another and myself went off to buy one, ''Only burgers left, and we have run-out of buns so we had ours in a serviette, but with an asked for layer of cheese top and bottom, ''I would also like fried onions on mine please'' ''This should be interesting'' she replied, even more so as I wanted mustard and tomato sauce... but we didn't make too much of a mess of ourselves, and they were very good !!

Owt to do with nowt really. I pal of mine attended an airshow and struck a bargain with the stallholders. He would supply all the buns they needed at cost plus one penny.
