No idea where they were going but a two Mustangs and a Spitfire in vic formation flew over our house about 10 mins ago, heading south, nice and low. This was followed by a DH Beaver slightly further east, which I think this was all silver! When that had gone from view another Spitfore (PR IX) flew over but heading north. An exciting 5 minutes!

Who needs air shows.

Flying Legends, Duxford

Stand out moments for me this year were 5 buchons, The debut display of the HAC De Havilland DH-9 and also the display by Ultimate Fighters. Which made use of the format that worked so well for Breitling Fighters. The change from the French commentator to the Kiwi gentleman has also being a welcome boon for Flying Legends. On a personal note moving the disabled car park from by The Fighter collection hangar to the rear of the American Air museum was most unwelcome. When it came to leave Duxford, instead of being able to turn right and get straight on the M11 for the long journey home, was presented with no choice other than to turn left and have an extra 30 minutes added to the journey as it was only possible to join the M11 at the next junction heading north.

'Vertical Flight Expo', previously known as 'Helitech International', will take place at Farnborough from 5 - 7 November and every other year after this, using the Airshow exhibition site.

If he got rid of all those heavy telephoto lenses hanging from his belt he might get airborne easily.....
