I keep comprehensive databases of Airfields, Strips, Aerodromes, Decoy Sites, Starfish Sites, Seaplane Bases, Joyride Sites, Airfield Related Books, Aviation Booksellers, Airfield Plans, Early Airlines, Aviation Maps & CD's, Bomb Ranges, Radar Stations, etc, for all of the UK & Ireland
I am always willing to divulge any information from my databases on request.
In particular I am always interested in hearing of new locations to keep up my extensive databases.
The following user(s) said Thank You: RickBoardman
I have a csv of 1600+ UK airfield locations with lat/longs if anyone needs them...
Martin if you want to take a look at my site the airfields are listed in alphabetical order with a Lat/Long... maybe there are one or two you don`t have... (and vice versa)
Along with Contentd and southendnicks lists, plus Martin Burney ( Hi Martin) I too have
an (historical) database of aviation sites, but this time covering the whole of Ireland. I could supply part of my database for inclusion on Airfield Information Exchange. But the size may be
problamatic as it is running at 20MB and on Microsoft Access.
This part is know as "Site Data" includes:
Airports-Airfields-Airstrips(all types)-Private-Civil-Military-Helipads-Museums-Stores-
All Para sites of any type-in fact any site used for aviation of any discription in Ireland
since 1784.
Cross referenced location names, may not work on downloaded copies. Should on DVD copy.
Data ID No.
Location Name and if primary or secondary. Secondary directs you to Primary.
County.
Nearest Town.
Irish Grids.
Lat/Long.
Dates.
Site Operator.
Radio frequency where applicable and known.
Runway/s or Active area/s.
I would need help in order to pass "Sites Data" on, that is if it's possible.
The second part is called "Notes" and gives information about the site history and use,
based aircraft, (although not upto date) some visitors and personal information about
some of the owners such as home address, landline/moblie numbers and because of that
I would be reluctant to place it on an open forum. But I could pass details on to individuals requesting information.

I think I've managed to do that. Dispite my having 1 meg Broadband it still took over 25 mins
to upload the 20.88mb to www.savefile.com/files/1823237
at 10/15kbs. That's
the file link. Do you think I should place the link on my signature at the bottom of my postings
or just wait for people to ask for it. Also could you please have a look at it and let me know
if it has gone through ok and what you think of the database itself.
I downloaded it to have a look. At least it works ok, I realise it's very "dry" without the "notes".
So if anyone wants more info on any site please ask.

I have a list of over 2,000 UKairfields from a variety of sources. The problem I have is finding the longitude and latitude of many of them. Then there are various latitudes and longitudes for the same airfield, sure whether they are duplicates or not, especially as a number of airfields are next to each other. I have not made a start on helipads. One of the most confusing areas is around Southampton Water. Any advice??
Last year my partner and i discovered 2 hidden little airstrips called Baxby and Bagby in North Yorkshire. I just thought i'd point them out to you, incase you hadn't come across them already, so you can add them to your database
