Raydon Airfield Suffolk

Over this last weekend (20 - 21 August 2022) about 45 relatives of the 353rd Fighter Group returned to Raydon airfield for a memorial service and private function held by the nearby land owner.
The memorial had been refurbished beforehand. The Mildenhall Honor Guard were in attendance for the service which was a nice touch. Just as the service finished at 12.20 Mustang 'Contrary Mary' flew over and made several passes. Some other aircraft had already landed and parked up where the relatives were treated to hospitality - a few L4 spotter planes and a couple of Harvards plus an assortment of other light aircraft. Some of these later took off and made passes for the relatives, as did the Contrary Mary Mustang, putting on a brief display before departing.

The relatives all wore badges showing who they were representing.

Sounds like a Very Interesting occasion. Yesterday we went to the Fowlmere Museum. A Very Good time spent there, full of interesting facts and photographs etc..
