Note: The discussions relating to Calls Signs, including those relating to HMS Queen Elizabeth have been moved to a separate thread as they are an interesting topic.
No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
The carrier and other warships were visible off the North Cornwall coast on Wednesday and Thursday. Estimated to be 15-20nm offshore.
Apart from HMS QE there appeared to be an assault ship, 2 destroyers and around 5 frigate type vessels. A few helicopters were operating between the ships but no sign of the F35's. There were however some noise complaints reported in West Cornwall due to night flying by the F35's.
The carrier has been off the North Cornish coast since at least Sunday 8 September. Spotted visually and obviously not appearing on radar. No other vessels with it. The only air activity I noticed was on Tuesday 10 September was a small dark coloured Agusta 109 type? helicopter operating for around 30 minutes. No sign of any F35's.
