Apparently the RAF is to deploy Typhoons to Iceland soon on air policing duties.
They will be posted to Keflavik which is a short taxi ride to the Blue Lagoon. Some folk get all the luck.

The Russians were at it again at the weekend and there were six Typhoons launched to intercept. Four from Lossiemouth and two from Coningsby.

They stopped for quiet some time. My last tour at Leuchars was 95-01 and I think we had a handful of live launches against the Russians. Whereas on my first tour it was roughly 4 a week. Most spectacular was one night when a grand total of 64 (yes thats sixty four) aircraft were airborne at one point from the Murmansk area.
