Hawker Typhoon was created by REF
The only comeplete surviving example of the Typhoon was at Hendon, I think it has been loaned to a museum in Canada now but not sure.

I found a curious entry in the 193 Sqn ORB for 5th April 1944. Due to no flying that day pilots painted the inside of their (Typhoon) wheel fairings Royal Blue for identification when taxiing.
I have not heard of such a practice before as the two code unit letters would have done that, probably more visibly. Anyone know why this was done and were all aircraft so painted? My assumption is that it is to do with regular ALG movements and unfamiliar ground crew.
Looking at that replica Typhoon Caen I couldn't help thinking that I must have one for Christmas! Also just noticed that it has the cab door type canopy, halfway between the original and the teardrop.
