Having myself scuba dived on several ww2 aircraft wrecks in British waters I doubt whether the aircraft will even survive the recovery attempt after nearly 70 years submerged in salt water.

Hi pumpkinv12,
Im not sure whether it makes any difference but the aircraft was buried in sand and silt for most off the 70 years, but as you say in salt water. only being exposed after a extremely low tide and shifting sand, and was reported to be in very good condition. I went passed today at low tide and you cant see it as the sand has covered it again apparently. The location is being kept secret to stop souvenir hunters taking parts off the aircraft, there was talk many years ago when found, as it was a USAF aircraft, it still belonged to the US, and they had the shout on the lift and salvage. hopefully the lift is successful as its the only P-38 mark in existence apparently.
