Stolen Aircraft

REWARD Offered for information leading to the recovery of ZK-PCI.
(s/n523). Aircraft was unlawfully taken from the Bridlington, UK area with
unpaid lease payments in excess of EUR250,000. It is believed to have been
disassembled and transported by road from the Bridlington-Scunthorpe areas.

Last possible sighting was recorded via CCTV on 22 May 2010, on a trailer being
towed North through Chester-le-Street (just South of Newcastle) by a 4WD
vehicle. UK Police have been notified as well as Interpol and the NZ and the
UK.CAA.

Airframe s/n523, Red fuselage, White main wings Engine : PT6A-34, s/n
PCE57118 Propeller: 4-blade Hartzell, black rear, grey front, white tips, s/n
FY661.

There is a(truncated) eMail address in the original on the ABiX site but it won't copy.I expect the UK police would be the best bet if you stumble over this in the back of a rotting hangar/Nissen hut or whatever.

Out of interest, it is a PC-6 Turbo Porter. Best check out the parachute airfields I think. Some good pics of it on Airliners.

Sounds more like a case of direct action than simple theft - Follow the debt trail perhaps? - methinks someone doesn`t want to lose all their investment.
Having said that there's always a market for PT6's and props.

There used to be a grass strip at Grindale near Bridlington latterly used by a local parachute club but it closed down in 2008 after a hangar fire . The site has now been cleared . Back in the 1970's Ginger Lacy was the QFI here !

Not stolen aircraft but stolen engines.
There has been a spate of thefts recently of Rotax 912 and 914 engines (4 stroke flat 4 configuration).
They are usually removed from the aircraft from locked hangars overnight or at weekends so the thieves must have professional knowledge to do this.

Does anyone remember the Chipmunk that was stolen from Denham many years ago? The aircraft was owned by a bloke called Peter Tory who wrote the William Hickey column in the Daily Express. The aircraft was found not that far from Denham, Heathrow!!!
