SOLICITOR Ralph Cross has a rare claim to fame - he was the first Briton registered to captain a passenger-carrying Florida Everglades-style "airboat".In his own boat, The Spirit of Sutherland, Mr Cross used to take tourists around the Dornoch Firth in the north of Scotland, when he ran the Trading Post Hotel at Bonar Bridge, Sutherland, during a 10 year break from his career in law.
