From the same period as the WW2 Lincoln bomber1 and the Spitfire jet fighter2. However, was it designed to a WW2 spec?

there was a similar howler in the same collection from NARA which described a Swordfish as a "World War II British TBM-3 Avenger torpedo bomber aircraft"
