From the NARA website a Gannet, captioned "A left front view of a World War II British Gannet AEW3 aircraft in flight during Air Fete'88, a NATO aircraft display hosted by the 513th Airborne Command and Control Wing"

From the same period as the WW2 Lincoln bomber1 and the Spitfire jet fighter2. However, was it designed to a WW2 spec?

1 - a caption on an internet page.
2 - A newspaper article from some years ago. I won't say which paper because I didn't bother to remember it.

there was a similar howler in the same collection from NARA which described a Swordfish as a "World War II British TBM-3 Avenger torpedo bomber aircraft"
