Random field find on crash site

Random field find on crash site was created by WEBB-TECH
Grew up extremely close to the crash site of 43-6972 of the 334th in Maylandsea in Essex.
Have various pieces of the aircraft from when I was younger but I couldn't find anything today....Until I was walking back to the car.

Looks like the nose cap from an artillery shell fuze.

Is the material ferrous metal? Most fuze caps were non-ferrous material.

Cleaned it up and the lettering says

11/76 or 11/16

It's a fairly young village. The field is literally 2-300m from the riverbank. Were three ever used on AA shells?
