Nice one!
The length of runway(?) to the right (with the buildings on) clearly, at one time, extended to the left of the main top/bottom runway(?). Soil/crop marks seem to indicate this. The buildings to the right; are they pigs or turkeys? If turkeys, then might it not be one of the airfields the late Bernard Matthews bought? The area looks suspiciously like low-lying East Anglia. If we had an orientation it might make GE searching a bit easier.
Please get this thread going - else my Domestic Operational Controller might issue a Lawful Order containing the word "Gardening".

Narrowing it down, it appears to have been a FIDO-equipped airfield.
There are what may be pipe trenches visible crossing the runway.

There are 'possible' pipe trenches! But I can't see them in crop marks in the cultivated area south and west of the 'intersection'! But - if it was a FIDO airfield - then the main runway (running top/bottom) in the pic would probably be orientated (roughly) E/W, or NE/SW? Does this narrow it down?
C'mon. This has got to be a doddle for "The Experts"!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies so far chaps, it is definitely not Norfolk or Suffolk. Nigel usually flies from Leicester East, could it be somewhere in the Midlands?

Cheers

Richard
