I've got a feeling it's Syerston. GE seems to fit. I'm sure JP's used to fly out of there in the 60's. I used to live just the other side of the Trent at Lambley and remember seeing JP's flying over as a kid.
Memories........... I've forgotten what they are !!
Syerston is very likely, defo not Valley, wrong background.
When you mentioned it was a Hunting pic, I immediately thought of their factory airfield at Luton, but the JPs have the unit markings applied.
Huntings did use Bovingdon as Luton never had customs at this point in time whereas Bovingdon which is local to Luton did. They had their own sales offices there too. Not necessary saying that this print was taken there though.
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!
Not sure what the hump is ? but if you follow the line across to it on GE, you can see where it was, maybe it was the infamous giant RAF potato clamp !!!
Sorry, where is the hump? in which photo? Do you mean in the original photo (2 o'clock to the JP parked in the distance/background)?
Sorry if I'm being slow. This area doesn't appear to be in the second photo.
Memories........... I've forgotten what they are !!
