Looks like a 6 pounder Hotchkiss.

Googling indicates the Hereford Sea Cadets Facebook have some plaudits referring to a 'Mark 3 1942 gun' Just what that is I don't know.

The Sea Cadet guns are getting rarer. All the ones I recall seeing from my youth are no longer there, unless they have been hidden away. I wonder if they chose the 6 pounder because it was both readily available and small enough to transport?

The Sea Cadets at my old school had a rifle store near the gym, this was in the sixties, and I suspect all the guns were viable as they were locked up. About the same time as the film "If" came out :)

This is a British 12 Pounder 12cwt Mark 9 Naval Gun. It was built in 1942 at Woolwich Arsenal, It was transferred to Liverpool docks that same year for fitting to convoy merchant ships. It appeared at the sea cadet unit sometime after the war. Hope that helps.
