SEPECAT Jaguar was created by netcompsys
I was traveling south last week, around Birmingham on the M42, and spotted a Jaguar in the trees near the M40/M42 Junction

This is Arnolds Wood and is one of the sites of Delta Force Paintball
The Jaguar is XX739, one of two purchased from Everett Aero at Bentwaters, the other being XZ369 which is on another site

Im surprised there hasnt been a thread on the Jaguar before.
It got a lot of stick whilst in service, particuarly as regards to its engines power, or lack of it! But in the Gulf in 90-91 its seviceability didnt drop below 98% and AFAIK not one sortie was lost due to unserviceability.

Was the engine power criticism due to its subsonic performance or that it lacked power for the role it was intended to perform? Also was this within the RAF or the press?
I did have some handouts I picked up at Farnbotough in the early seventies and some MOD diagrams for the late sixties but as with a lot of my older stuff, it was sold when we moved into our first house.

It was criticised for lack of power both in the RAF and by the aviation press. But as I said in the Gulf it earned its spurs, and of course in 1994 it became the first aircraft to drop bombs in anger in Europe since wwii.

I watched an episode of "the new avengers" last night showing Jaguars. Im sure a couple of them didnt have the RWR fitted, that was the horizontal bar near the top of the fin. Was the RWR an add on?

Dim memories but
Did the two seaters not have RWR?
There was I think two versions, the early one and an upgrade.
I think the early version had the "bar" only in front of the fin and the upgrade both in front and behind
But I could be thinking of another aircraft completely

You're thinking of the Tornado Kevin, GR1/4 Both front and back, F2/F3 just the rear.
